Not as much as some people and more than others.

I rescue and foster.
I promote my breed of choice.
I contribute to my local animal shelter.
I pray the madness in this world will stop.
References :
Well I don't know about my own breed, because I have my litters due soon, are the first ones in 3 years.

But at this time I have 27 dogs in my kennel of various small breed dogs that are evidence to convict a puppy mill owner. We had 32 but 5 died from neglect, we have bathed them given hair cuts to the ones that needed it and shots. Since they are now cleaned up and starting to gain some weight they are starting to look like puppies.

Please pray we can find homes for all of these cute little girls.
References :
For dogs in General. Attending shows and pet expos with my well trained dogs. Manning the Obedience training booths to show people what a well trained/socialized dog can be. Directing people to trainers in their areas. Doing obedience demonstrations.

For my breed. The above. changing peoples opinions with my well trained dogs where ever we go. that my breed does not have to be a "yappy little ankle biter". That poms can do everything that a big dog can, (except of course K9 work).

I do not have the space or time to foster, I do donate what I can for animal welfare. But I feel that showing people what a responsible owner can be is just as important. If people train their dogs, less dogs will be given up. I also advise pet owners to spay & nueter and that only the experienced breeders with breeding quality animals should be doing so.
References :
BTW. I am not a breeder. But I do think everyone can do something.

My mom is the president of the capitol bulldog club (which she volunteered to do after my mentor got sick and no one else would do it), we are always donating to bulldog health research and weimaraner health research. At our specialty we have a raffle where most if not all of the funds go to health and rescue, this year we will be raffling off two ramps made by my dad. We donate to our local rescues of both weims and bulldogs. When I get enough space I would like to foster for rescue, but I just don't have the space at the moment. My mom writes/edits the bully pawprint newsletter for the local club, always includes stuff about donations. At our local weim specialty, spring specialty, we always donate a lot of money to the raffle all that money goes to help the rescue.

I volunteered at my local elementary last year to give a talk about responsible pet ownership and what you can do constructively with you're dog to some 3-4th graders. They highly enjoyed it and learned a lot, my mom did it weeks before for career day and a couple classes asked if I could come in because they did not get the chance to see it. The dog I brought was the one in my avatar. My oldest bulldog got to be in their annual school picture one year. I believe I have the pict somewhere on my computer.

I got stopped at a show by a tour to talk a little bit about the weimaraners, I did not have much time so I could not talk a lot about them, I wish I did but it was the last day and we were on our way to get some food before hitting the long trek back home.
