What are the specific problems caused when a dog eats fertilized grass?
I know that it is bad for the dog, but how? Is medical attention needed? Our new pug puppy was only in the grass for a few minutes, but we are worried about the problems that could result….
It could cause instant poisoning or even a slow build up of poison, depending on the size of the dog, the amount ingested, and the type of fertilizer. Check the precautions on the bag, or call the poison control center. You should check with your vet.
because it has chemicals in it from the fertilizer. And when a dog eats grass it means that its stomach is upset. and might throw up.

many fertilizers are made so that they do not kill animals, however they of course should never ever go on a treated lawn for a long period after a lawn has been treated because they do ingest grass..watch for any signs like vomiting, lethargy different type of bowl movements and if you see any sign the dog may be in distress immediately call the poison hot line and a vet..also, the pads on there feet are sensitive to chemicals..Just watch him closely. Good luck
