What can I do if I’m walking my dog and i see a vicious dog on the street

  2. TeslaNick2 says:

Totally agree…. At the end of the day from a dog’s point of view it’s a death threat….

  3. TeslaNick2 says:

I can think of a few people that could do with a volts to the face… hehehe…

@jsf525 I was saying that the ‘alpha roll’ i.e. pinning the dog down is the harshest form of correction and should only be used in extreme cases i.e. when a dog intends to kill another. Dogs DO NOT alpha roll each other without VERY good reason. Lunging and showing mild agression should never be corrected by pinning the dog, as it is a very aggressive move and said dog may well turn on you.
Also, i’m pretty sure Headcrabb was joking about tazing his dog…

  5. jsf525 says:

Trust you get 90% from walking your Dog but never in front of you. If you are too lazy to walk your dog ever Day don’t get a dog.
I do recommend how to lie your dog down by a professional before doing it yourself.
It’s very Important to know just how hard to hold and how long.

  6. jsf525 says:

I am a professional. I worked with cesar.
you only do this move if the dog put there teeth on you. that is the only time or if the dog just bite another dog. while holding him down you bring the dog that was attact over to smell the dog i am holding down.
I show my customers in person how to do the take down and the bite on the neck.
if not done within 2 seconds forget it because the dog won’t know why you are holding him
this is what dogs do to each other.
go to a dog park a watch them.

  7. jsf525 says:

this putting the dog on the side not the back is correct..
    I worked with Cesar.
I teach what he does and it works

  8. jsf525 says:

people gave you 3 hands down but what are you saying the harshest form of correction is?

  9. gavroash says:

    @jsf525
please stop promoting the alpha hold. It’s not safe, it’s long term results are put into question, and some studies have shown that it can even cause a dog who was never agressive to become agressive. It’s not safe, and it should only be done by a prefessional trainer and never in dog agression cases caused by the dog not understanding the command. Furthermore, it’s often being abused by owners, causing the dog to lose trust in them. Please consider this before blindly promoting it.

I try this with my puppy, but all she does is lay down and lick or try to bite my shoes, won’t move an inch and I’m talking about 10-15 min…. she will even fall asleep….. now what?

  11. jsf525 says:

    this guy gives good advice.
No Talk ,no touch, no eye contact.
1 thing I disagree with is not to give a dog a command. also stand sideways. do not face the dog or turn your back on the dog..
giving a dog a command you will be putting your hand out to motion to sit and the dog can bite your hand.

same thing. that is animal abuse……
when I pin a dog down using the bite move it is as any other dog would do to another dog. It does not hurt the dog. you are hurting the dog and that dog will hate you.
now they do have a shock collar but for rare cases only and it is a very small jolt to snap the dog out of thinking of whatever they are thinking and to redirect.
A dog can only think of 1 thing at a time.
Please Do Not use a stun weapon on any dog. I will help you free if necessary

  13. Headcrabb says:

It isn’t really a taser, its more like a stun gun.

  14. jsf525 says:

the best thing is to get your dog under control and then if you know the other dogs owner then have that dog smell yours. but you must 100% have control of your dog while the other dogs smells.
this means your dog gave in.
remember dogs need to smell 1st hear 2nd.
if you come across a dog off leach stay calm and ignore. no touch No talk No eye contact. the 3 rules.
If you know what to do then you don’t need to read this…….lol

  15. jsf525 says:

I agree you do NOT taz a dog.

  16. jsf525 says:

wrong, you get respect when you pin a dog down just as another dog would do to your dog.
yes have a trainer teach you how to do it the right way or your dog may bit you. I recommend a muzzle at 1st if it’s a bad case.

  17. jsf525 says:

this happened because you have no control over your dog on the walk. by caesars milin’s book, mastering the walk

  18. jsf525 says:

pining your dog down is a correction and not a punishment.
yes you need to be trained for this move or use a muzzle.
as far as trust, just learn how to master the walk and you get 90% trust on the walk and never let the dog in front. who ever is in front is the pack leader roll.
the 1st thing I tell my customers is if you are not walking your dog every day then you should not own a dog. The backyard
is a fish tank to a dog. a dog needs to travel and travel by your side.
    by cesars book

  19. jsf525 says:

I am not sure what move you are talking about but I do agree if you pin your dog down as any pack leading dog would do, you better know what you are doing or you will get bite. better to use a muzzle at 1st if you are not a professional

  20. jsf525 says:

never taz a dog. what are you nuts.
just use your hand and the touch and your body languish.

  21. TeslaNick2 says:

    I think you mean ‘skittish’….

  22. TeslaNick2 says:

Again, alpha rolling is a last resort- short term fix punishment in dogs that are ‘red zone’ as Ceasar would put it, but it can also seriously damage a dog’s trust in it’s handler and also provoke a ‘kill or be killed’ response from the dog, so you need to be prepared for a seriously pissed off dog if you engage in ‘alpha rolling’…. I would never recommend such a move….

  23. Headcrabb says:

Yeah, It was kind of skiddish after getting 50,000 volts

  24. TeslaNick2 says:

Oh yeah and also, don’t expect your dog to trust you again after a move like that….

  25. TeslaNick2 says:

I don’t get it ……An ‘alpha roll’ (which is what you described as suitable punishment for lunging) is telling your dog ‘if you do that again, i’m going to kill you’, a dog won’t understand why it’s just been electricuted, it’ll just be in pain… Two totally different forms of punishment….
