Does your dog have behavior problems that you want to stop? Read these 7 tips and you will find ways to to stop your problem dog behavior.
1) A tired dog is a good dog. Does your dog get enough exercise? Try walking your dog or playing more than you do now. Some experts think that you ought to take about 90 minutes per day exercising and playing with your dog.
2) Has your dog learned to connect a bad behavior with some everyday events, like
unnecessary barking when people come to the door, or jumping on people? It could be that your dog is frightened about people at the door or connects getting attention by jumping on people. Try to determine the reason your dog is behaving like this and then you can work on a remedy.
3) Chewing. Does your dog chew things when you are away? Dogs use their mouths much like we use our hands. They utilize their mouths to discover what something feels like or how it tastes. Dogs absolutely like objects that have your scent on them. Try to put these things away so that they are not easy for your dog to get at.
4) Aggression. Your dog growls, snaps or lunges at other dogs. Once again, is there some reason that your dog is doing this? It is difficult to train your dog to not act this way, but you should try to teach your dog to do something else when you see that there will be a problem. Can you find a location where there is a barrior like a fence between your dog and the threatening object (the other dogs)? Then there will be no contact while you train your dog a different way of behaving. Your dog
may also have a medical problem, he/she might not feel good or could even be in pain. Have your vet look at the dog just in case.
5) Excessive Barking. What is stimulating your dog to bark? To deal with this problem you must understand the dog. Once you have found the cause, try to eliminate the
problem from the dog’s environment. You should be able to use the “wait and reward when they stop”method , the squirt gun method or wrap your hands around his/her snout and give a soft shhh command. These methods will only be effective through repetition.
6) Dog ignores you. The dog may think that something bad is about to happen, “paid
attention last time and nothing good came of it”.
7) Pulling on the lead – the choke collar method is not as effective as using a head
harness collar. This is placed around the dog’s nose and neck and the leash is attached under the chin. This operates more like a horses bridle and gives the handler added control.
In all of these situations, when you praise your dog, overstate your positive feelings.
Let your dog really know that you are pleased. Use a positive, happy, excited
tone of voice to reinforce your dog’s behavior. Try physical encounter also, get down and open your arms. These tips will get you started clearing up your issues, but it is crucial to get a more detailed program or system to give you expert advice.

Dog Training: How To Stop The Chewing Problem
Many people have begun the task of getting there dog or puppy
into a dog training school. There are a lot of aspects that are
gone over in dog training classes. Unfortunately, one part of
dog training that is not gone over very well in dog training
classes is chewing.
It is hard to go over a chewing problem in dog training classes
because dogs often have nothing to chew on or destroy while in
the class! If you are one of those people who are in dog
training classes, but you still need help with chewing, please
read on.
This type of dog training can be for dogs young and old. Many
people find this part of dog training to be more common in
puppies. But older dogs have been know to need this type of dog
training because they love to chew things up while their owners
are away!
To begin this type of dog training, you must first realize that
all dogs chew. Dogs need to chew. So when you begin, make sure
you have several things that are ok for your dog to chew on.
Then begin your dog training by keeping all of your dogs chewing
toys in one location.
This way, your dog will learn to associate this spot with his or
her chew toys. You must do this in order for this type of dog
training to work. Try to have the dog toys in a “toy box” for
your dog.
During this dog training, never spank or hit your dog if you
catch it chewing on something it is not allowed to. Instead, for
effective dog training, praise your dog and pet it when it chews
on what it is supposed to chew on.
It has been shown that dogs respond much better to positive
praise and positive dog training. If the dog continues to chew
on things that it shouldn’t, verbally reprimand it. Your tone of
voice will be enough punishment and is the only punishment
necessary for this kind of dog training.
Another method of dog training you can try is to put a taste
deterrent on the items your dog shouldn’t chew. This Dog
Training chew deterrent is called “bitter apple” and it is
available at most pet stores.
These are the most effective means of dog training that will
teach your dog not to chew on inappropriate things. If you
follow all of these aspects, your dog training should go more
smoothly.
Dog training can be a fun and rewarding experience…as long as
all of your favorite things aren’t chewed up in the process!
Keep calm and be patient to achieve good results

Licking: A Dog Health Problem
Dogs are wonderful pets and it is the responsibility of their owners to be aware of the many dog health problems. This article is about one dog health problem – licking.
Just about every dog owner has observed this common vice in a pet. There are many reasons for dogs to engage in face licking and not all of them can conclusively be considered related to health problems.
Biological
A mother dog will always lick her newborn puppies. This helps to rouse them from their post-partum stupor and clean away the birth sac. It also stimulates their breathing and to pass feces and urine. This is also the beginning of the bonding between a mother and her puppies. Even if the dog owner cleans the puppies, the mother will still lick them. Sometimes, a puppy may be observed licking the mother lip to stimulate the mother to vomit. When this vomiting occurs, the puppies will eat it.
Psychology
When nervous or stressed, dogs will exhibit certain behaviors just the same as humans. The next time you are stopped at a traffic light, observe the driver of the car next to you. He or she may be paying with his or her hair or chewing the fingernails. Dogs will also exhibit odd behaviors, such as lip licking, as an expression of nervousness or stress. Visiting the same vet’s office where a previous visit had been unpleasant or painful may very well cause such a behavior.
Psychopathology
Under conditions of stress, dogs of a sensitive nature will often lick themselves. This can possibly cause acral lick dermatitis, depending on where the dog licks. Sometimes, a dog under stress will lick walls, floors and furniture rather than its own body. To put a stop to this kind of licking behavior, the root cause, such as stress or anxiety, must be identified and treated.
When the owner doesn’t like the licking, regardless of the reason, the best way to stop it is with reward and mild punishment. Reward is the most likely way to elicit a positive response according to psychologist BF Skinner. Visit http://www.aboutdoghealth.org to learn more about dog health.
When a dog responds in kind to its owner’s affectionate hug or kiss greeting, or stress or anxiety causes it to lick other things like the floor or furniture, a gentle tap on the face will gradually teach the dog that licking is not acceptable. Sometimes this will keep a dog health problem like licking from becoming difficult to stop later.

Top Pomeranian Dog Health Problem Issue
The Pomeranian is a cute little breed of dog similar to other little breeds. They make wonderful housedogs because of their loving nature and the way they behave when around people. They act like a little child who wants everyone to know they are welcome. These fluffy little dogs can be a bit aggressive if their owner is upset or in trouble.
Their cute fox like face and pointed ears with soft and silky looking hair make them a beautiful show dog as well as a house pet. The eyes are blackish colored with a bright glimmer of shine. The teeth are very sharp yet thin by nature. The tail resembles the tail of a Pekinese as it crusades forward over the back of the dog. The average height is up to twelve inches with a weight of about fifteen to twenty pounds.
The top Pomeranian dog health problem is the teeth. This concerns owners because if the teeth break or fall out, the dog will have no way to consume food. Feeding hard dog food helps to strengthen the teeth and gums, but many people make the mistake of feeding only soft dog food, which does not benefit the teeth or gums in any way. The overall health of the teeth needs to be clean and you need to take every precaution against tooth decay.
The Pomeranian dog breed does suffer some health problems, but not all bloodlines are at risk. The Pomeranian dog health problems might be a slipped stifle or dislocated patella, which is a small bone by the knee joint. The slipped stifle affects the movement of the dog and can cause pain and depression in the little dog. If you notice signs of leg problems, contact the vet for further tests to determine the exact cause of the problem.
The Pomeranian dog health problem during birth can be saddening if proper knowledge and care is not given. When a female is ready to give birth, a vet may be required due to the size of the female. The puppies will be extremely small fitting three puppies into a man size hand is common. Extra care for the puppies because of their size requires helping the mother with daily care of the puppies. These puppies require extra care until the age of three months in order to properly grow and achieve adulthood.
The ears and eyes need cleaning on a daily business. This dog breed loves to go for walks, but like all little dogs, they do not need to take long walks, as they tend to get tired because of their short legs. These little pups strive with love and touching as they grow into beautiful little companions.
The Pomeranian dog health problem follows suit with other canine breeds. They are susceptible to many other health conditions such as skin disease, allergies, infections and parasites. Keeping the dog healthy requires proper grooming and diet along with exercise.
